This healthy, homemade, 2-ingredient Juneberry Greek Yogurt Popsicle recipe is the perfect treat for a hot summer day.

Greek Yogurt Popsicles Your Kids Can Help Make
When people think about my work at Wild Game & Fish, they usually picture venison steaks sizzling in a cast-iron skillet or a limit of ducks after a crisp autumn morning in North Dakota. Those recipes will always be at the heart of what I do. But outdoors is also about paying attention to the edible plants growing along shelterbelts, river bottoms, hiking trails, and country roads. Every July, I look forward to filling a bowl with sweet, ripe juneberries.
After years of developing beginner-friendly wild game and fish recipes, I've discovered that many of the same skills also apply to foraging juneberries. You don't need expensive equipment or complicated techniques. Instead, you need the willingness to taste what the Upper Midwest has been offering for generations. North Dakota is filled with opportunities to gather juneberries, and turning them into these easy Greek yogurt popsicles is one of the simplest—and most rewarding—ways to enjoy your harvest.
Even better, this Greek yogurt popsicle recipe requires only two ingredients and delivers a simple way to enjoy the sweet flavor of fresh juneberries. That makes it one of those rare recipes that children can genuinely help make from beginning to end, giving them the satisfaction of creating something delicious with their own hands.

What are Juneberries?
If you're searching for a juneberry recipe, you may already know these delicious berries by another name.
Depending on where you live, juneberries are also commonly called:
- Saskatoon berries
- Serviceberries
- Shadbush berries
Although the names vary, they all refer to species of Amelanchier, a shrub found throughout much of North America. Here in North Dakota, juneberries usually ripen around the first week in July. Their flavor falls somewhere between a blueberry and a sweet cherry. They are wonderful fresh by the handful, but they truly shine in recipes for juneberries like cheesecake, muffins, cobbler, pies—and now these creamy Greek yogurt popsicles.
Why You'll Love These Greek Yogurt Popsicles
Most recipes try to impress with a long list of ingredients. This one does the opposite.
Using only Honey Vanilla Greek yogurt and fresh Juneberries, these Greek yogurt popsicles celebrate simplicity. The thick yogurt creates an incredibly creamy texture, while the berries add bursts of juicy sweetness in every bite.
Blending only half the juneberries gives the yogurt a beautiful lavender color while leaving plenty of whole berries to provide little surprises throughout each popsicle. Every bite reminds you that these came from real fruit rather than artificial flavoring.
This recipe for juneberries is a refreshing snack on a hot summer afternoon, wholesome enough for breakfast-to-go, and pretty enough to serve after a barbecue.

Make These with Your Kids
One of my favorite afternoons this summer happened in the kitchen with my 11-year-old daughter, Lucia, making these Greek yogurt popsicles together.
She measured the yogurt while I pulled a bag of Juneberries from the freezer. Then she poured a cup of berries into the blender and watched them transform the yogurt into the prettiest shade of purple in about ten seconds. After that, she carefully folded in the remaining whole berries and proudly filled each popsicle mold herself. There were purple drips on the counter, yogurt on the measuring cup, and probably a few more spoonfuls sampled than the recipe technically called for. I wouldn't have changed a thing.

That's one reason I hope you'll make this Greek yogurt popsicle recipe with your own kids or grandkids. It doesn't require sharp knives or hot ovens.. Young children can stir, pour, and help fill the molds, while older kids can practically make the recipe on their own with just a little supervision.
Those ordinary afternoons have a way of becoming the family memories that matter most. A simple homemade treat can become an excuse to slow down, laugh together, and give one another your full attention. Few investments pay greater dividends than those small moments shared with the people you love.
Several hours later, Lucia and I pulled our popsicles from the freezer and carried them out to the backyard. We sat together enjoying our frozen treats while talking about everything from summer camp to what we hoped to cook next. It reminded me once again that some of the best recipes don't simply fill our stomachs—they create opportunities to spend meaningful time together.

Juneberry Greek Yogurt Popsicles
Ingredients
- 3 cups Honey Vanilla Greek yogurt
- 2 cups fresh or frozen juneberries, divided
Instructions
- Place the yogurt and 1 cup of the juneberries in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth, about 10 seconds.
- Gently stir in the remaining 1 cup of whole juneberries.
- Pour the mixture into popsicle molds. If your popsicle mold has slots for sticks, you can insert them before freezing - if not, freeze for 2 hours, then put a wooden popsicle stick in the middle. Continue to freeze for an additional 6 hours or overnight. They'll keep for a couple of months in the freezer.
- When ready to eat, let them stand at room temperature for 2 to 3 minutes or run the bottom of the mold under warm water and wiggle the stick to remove the popsicle. Serve immediately.
